The Open Ideas Young Newton Innovation Award is a recognition program by the Open Ideas platform that celebrates creativity, problem-solving, and innovation among young students aged up to 17 years in India.
Participants are invited to identify and refine innovative ideas addressing real-world problems by selecting structured problem statements from the Open Ideas Lab platform.
The competition focuses on ideas that are thoughtfully developed and clearly articulated to a stage where they are ready for future design, prototyping, or implementation.
Key Requirements

All submissions must be based on problem statements available on the Open Ideas Lab platform

Students may freely choose any challenge listed on the platform

Submissions must be original and submitted only through the official Open Ideas platform

The competition is strictly an individual participation competition; team submissions are not permitted

Submitted ideas should demonstrate clear thinking, originality, feasibility, and readiness for future development or implementation

Each selected idea will receive:

The jury may select up to 3 winning ideas

Selection of all 3 winners is not mandatory

If submissions do not meet required standards of originality or impact, the jury reserves the right to:
